The “Innovation Walk” at the e-Revolution IT conclave showcased groundbreaking software designed to assist doctors in minimizing medication errors and tools for video messaging, among other innovations. Packet Video, a city-based innovator, introduced technology enabling users to experience next-gen interactive multimedia on their mobile phones. Additionally, KFT, based in the Rajiv Gandhi Chandigarh Technology Park, offers specialized IT-enabled services that allow chartered accountants in India to remotely work on clients’ computers and servers in Australia and New Zealand.
Carfusion’s software is making a global impact by aiding doctors in reducing medication errors and preventing healthcare-associated infections. At the event, several companies received awards based on their performance. Infosys and Dell International were recognized for their exceptional exports from Chandigarh and Punjab, respectively. Infosys Technologies from Chandigarh exported Rs 230.83 crore, while Dell International Services in the ITES segment logged exports worth Rs. 96.74 crore for the financial year 2010-11.
The awards ceremony featured K K Sharma, Advisor to the Administrator, UT Administration, as the chief guest, who honored the winning performers. V K Singh, Secretary of Information Technology and Finance, and Dr. Omkar Rai, Director General, STPI, served as guests of honor.
In the SME segment for software development companies, Nvish Solutions from Chandigarh, Quark Media House from Punjab, and Xportsoft Technologies from Haryana emerged as winners. For ITES services, export awards in the SME sector were given to Chandigarh’s Netzen Softech, Punjab’s IDS Infotech, and Haryana’s Webart Softech.
IBM Daksh Business Process Services, with ITES services exports of Rs. 3.58 crore the previous year, received the New Entrant Award. Additionally, two Emerging Entrepreneur awards from the tricity were bestowed upon Kiran Foreign Trade and RVA Etronics from STP and EHTP, respectively.
